Conference Overview

Reconciling Our Narratives: Their Story, Our Story, HIStory,” focuses on bringing the magnificently diverse body of Christ (the Church) into unity! This year, as our country is facing multiple crises that are not only diverse but dividing our country, we are bringing biblical principles to speak truth about God’s power of reconciliation. We recognize that the COVID-19 pandemic has impeded our ability to come together in the ways we have known, and that current racial, economic, and political tension may be distracting and confusing for those who love God. Through the UCC Diversity Conference 2020, we strive to help every attendee acknowledge the Christian church’s history, recognize our responsibilities as Christ-followers to impact our world, and use God’s Word to turn our faith into action as a unified and diversely gifted church. This year’s conference will primarily focus on the church’s involvement in and response to systemic racism, considering our individual narratives, and reconciling our stories to achieve the goal of Christ’s story, God’s Word.

Our greatest hope is that each person in attendance will move forward in the understanding of their calling to keep the unity of the Spirit, with all humility, gentleness and patience and holding up one another in love (from Ephesians 4:1-3).
