Mary N. Parker, M.S.

Mary N. Parker, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 25 years experience providing therapeutic services in multiple modalities, recently launched her own counseling and consulting company MNParker Counseling & Consulting to service the unique needs of people of color and organizations seeking to positively engage diverse populations. As a published researcher, Mary has led and participated in numerous research initiatives examining the unique psychosocial stressors members of marginalized communities such as African Americans experience. Additionally, as a minister and avid bible scholar, Mary has maintained a particular interest in how her community utilizes specific coping mechanisms such as prayer and worship to respond, and cope with the experience of systematic racism. This has lead to workshop presentations and sermons addressing the manner in which scripture informs this issue and how the church to can proactively navigate interracial relationships.

Mary ultimately feels she is called for such a time as this to utilize her vast array of professional and personal experiences to serve as a catalyst for healing and increased adaptive functioning of her own cultural community and the faith community.
